Directions

Where am I going? I need to know where I am going.
Where did we go? At some point I missed the note.
Why did I ask? It just makes everything last.
Will it go away? Why didn't I even think to say:

Lead me through this dark hallway,
Don't tell me where, just lead me away.
The things that hold will all be old,
By the time I'm old there will be no hold.

What was I thinking?
